Means of transportationPublic transport
Vienna has four underground lines, a bus and tram service, together with an express tram service (Schnellbahn), that connects the centre to the suburbs. Thirty tram lines in total, cross the city. It is advisable to purchase a travel pass (Dreitagekarte), which allows unlimited travel on any public transport.
On foot - by bike
Most of the interesting things are in the centre of the city (Innere Stadt), so going around on foot is easy, and a lot of streets are pedestrianised. Vienna is also bike-friendly, with over 700km of bicycle tracks.
By car
Not a good idea. Traffic is hectic, and parking is extremely expensive.
